Dr Sumaira Aasi
Dr Sumaira Aasi

Dr Sumaira Aasi is a Professor of Dermatology and Director of Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a nationally recognized leader in cutaneous oncology and dermatologic surgery, specializing in high-risk skin cancers and complex reconstruction.

Dr Aasi completed a fellowship in advanced dermatologic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and Mohs micrographic surgery at Yale University. She obtained her medical and residency training at Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. She was Associate Chief of Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at Yale University, before being recruited to lead the Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery section at Stanford, where she helped train fellows in Mohs micrographic surgery.

As an accomplished academic, Dr Aasi has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and has delivered over 200 invited lectures nationally and internationally. She has written a textbook on recognizing pathology of skin cancers, Atlas of Practical Mohs Histopathology, used worldwide in Mohs surgery training programs.

Dr Aasi has also held numerous national leadership roles, most notably serving as President of the American College of Mohs Surgery. She also serves on national guideline committees, including the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), contributing to evidence-based standards for skin cancer management. Her academic interests include high-risk skin cancer, reconstruction, dermatopathology, and innovative non-invasive diagnostic technologies.

Dr Amal Elkady
Dr Amal Elkady

Dr Amal Elkady is a distinguished dermatology-trained physician and internationally recognized expert in autoimmune skin disease, biologics, and pharmaceutical leadership across clinical development and medical affairs. As the founder and host of the podcast “Beyond Medicine by Dr Amal Elkady, MD” she brings over 20 years of expertise spanning clinical practice, academia, and cutting-edge drug development.

Dr Elkady has dedicated her career to advancing dermatology through innovative immunotherapeutic development, specifically leading the launch of ruxolitinib cream, a JAK inhibitor and the first FDA-approved treatment for vitiligo. She has also contributed to the advancement of other transformative therapies for complex autoimmune diseases.

Currently serving as a medical affairs leader and consultant in the USA, Dr Elkady is a published author and seasoned reviewer for leading journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), JAAD Reviews, and the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (JEADV). She is widely celebrated for translating complex clinical data into practical, patient-centered application and is a sought-after speaker at international congresses and global medical forums.

As a committed educator and patient advocate, Dr Elkady has led initiatives to improve outcomes in vitiligo, alopecia areata, and hidradenitis suppurativa, while promoting diversity and inclusivity in clinical research. She completed her dermatology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, and remains active in as a member of the EADV, Skin of Color Society, and the International Society of Dermatology.

Prof Arun Inamadar
Prof Arun Inamadar

Dr Arun C. Inamadar is a distinguished academic dermatologist with over 35 years of teaching, clinical, and research experience. He serves as Vice-Chancellor of BLDE Deemed University, Vijayapura, Karnataka, India, and is Professor of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy at Sri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr Inamadar holds an MD in Dermatology and Venereology and has been elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (2014) and the Royal College of Physicians (2024). He was awarded a WHO Fellowship (USA) in 1996 and has received several national distinctions, including the IADVL-GlaxoSmithKline National Oration and the Prof Surrinder Kaur Award for Excellence in Pediatric Dermatology (2025).

A prolific scholar, Dr Inamadar has authored over 300 publications, including 205 in indexed journals, and has contributed 75 chapters to national and international textbooks. He has authored and edited several landmark books and serves in key editorial roles, including Associate Editor of BMJ Case Reports and Executive Editor of the Indian Journal of Pediatric Dermatology.

His pioneering contributions include the first report of cutaneous manifestations of chikungunya fever and the detailed description of the concept of "acute skin failure." His core academic interests are pediatric dermatology, medical dermatology, and dermatologic critical care.

Dr Konstantinos Liopyris
Dr Konstantinos Liopyris

Dr Konstantinos Liopyris is a dermatologist in private practice at the Andreas Sygros Hospital for Cutaneous and Venereal Diseases, and his dedication and commitment to advancing dermatological sciences has earned him a place among the top 10 dermatologists, worldwide.

He combines patient care with rigorous scientific inquiry and his research interests are deeply rooted in the complexities of skin diseases - particularly Keratoacanthoma and the innovative application of imaging and artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnosis. Driven by a desire to improve patient outcomes, he explores the potential of AI to revolutionise the detection and diagnosis of skin cancers, notably melanoma. His work in this area is characterised by a meticulous approach, integrating patient-contextual skin images to enhance the accuracy of AI-based diagnostic tools. Dr Liopyris' contributions extend beyond the laboratory and clinic, and he actively engages with the wider medical community, sharing insights and expertise at international conferences.

Prof Daudi Mavura
Prof Daudi Mavura

Prof Daudi Mavura is an Associate Professor in Dermato-venereology at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University and currently serves as Principal of the Regional Dermatology Training Center at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi, Tanzania. The centre is a leading tertiary training institute affiliated with Tumaini University and the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, and plays a key role in dermatology training across Africa.

Prof Mavura obtained his medical degree from the University of Carlos J. Finlay in Cuba and later completed his Master of Medicine in Dermato-venereology at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre. He further pursued subspecialty training in dermatosurgery at UKT University Hospital Tübingen in Germany and at the University of Alcalá in Spain.

In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Prof Mavura contributes to international dermatology initiatives. He serves as an external advisor to the International League of Dermatological Societies WHO Committee and as a special advisor to the International Foundation for Dermatology. He is also a faculty member of the Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery International League.

Professor Mavura has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications, with a particular focus on tropical dermatology and dermatologic surgery, and remains actively involved in dermatology education and training throughout Africa.

Prof Diamant Thaçi
Prof Diamant Thaçi

Prof Diamant Thaçi is a leading dermatologist and inflammation medicine expert whose career spans clinical practice, translational research, and academic leadership.

After completing a postdoctoral fellowship and receiving a DAAD Scholarship for highly talented young scientists, he specialised in dermatology and venerology at J.W. Goethe University Frankfurt. There, he advanced through key roles, including Senior Physician for dermatological clinical research and chronic inflammatory skin diseases. He later earned his venia legendi and was appointed to a W2 Professorship.

Professor Thaçi later assumed major leadership positions at the University of Lübeck, where he currently serves as Director of the Institute for Inflammation Medicine, the Excellence Center for Inflammation Medicine, and the Inflammation Board. His research focuses on atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and innovative immunomodulatory therapies, and he has played a central role in numerous pivotal international clinical trials.

With 379 documents, over 20,228 citations, and an hi-index of 68, he is recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher and serves on multiple international councils and editorial boards.

His awards include the Theodor Stern Foundation Prize and multiple distinctions from European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology and other professional societies. Overall, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern inflammation and dermatology research.

Prof Nathalie C Zeitouni
Prof Nathalie C Zeitouni

Dr Nathalie Zeitouni is a nationally recognized fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with experience in the multidisciplinary care of cutaneous oncology patients. She is currently a Professor of Dermatology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix and Emeritus Professor and Chair of Oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY.

Her approach to care includes prevention, treatment, and research in Mohs surgery, skin cancer, dermatologic surgery, and melanoma. She is a national leader in the field of photodynamic therapy and known for her work with the rare forms of skin cancer, such as Merkel Cell Carcinoma, Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans, and Extramammary Paget's disease.

She is a past board member of the American College of Mohs surgery and is the Vice President of the International Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Additionally, Dr Zeitouni is a former board member of The International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative and has significant expertise in the treatment of organ transplant patients who have a much higher risk of developing skin cancers.

As a recipient of numerous National Cancer Institute and industry grants, Dr Nathalie Zeitouni has a rich history researching the various aspects of skin cancers. She has published more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and given numerous national and international presentations. She is the co-editor of textbook Dermatology and Solid Organ Transplantation.
